What do you need to have a good time? If great food, music, and cold beverages are on your list, you need to check out The Rustic. Founded by Kyle Noonan and Josh Sepkowitz, The Rustic provides a fun backyard party atmosphere complete with locally sourced food and live music. Located less than 10 minutes from The Lofts at Mockingbird Station, The Rustic is a great place to make a lot of fun memories.
You won’t find boring chain-restaurant meals here. Start with an appetizer like cactus fritters or wild boar meatballs served over black beans. For the main course, try the Rustic Burger topped with house brisket, white cheddar, green chile, and grilled onion. Other entrées include quail, fried chicken, and even a game hen cooked on a beer can. Like we said, the food that comes from the kitchen at The Rustic is anything but average. Of course, they don’t serve the usual sides either. White hominy or jalapeno spoon bread are the perfect companions to any entrée.
Make sure you save room for dessert! Your taste buds will sing with each bite of banana pudding, peanut butter pie, ice box s’mores, or the dessert of the day.
The bar has a variety of Texas-brewed beers on tap, as well as imported drafts, cans, and bottles. They serve unique and delicious cocktails too. Try the Ring the Bell, which is served in a frozen shot glass, or the Rimey Rita, a frozen margarita topped with a sangria popsicle. Do you prefer fermented grapes? Don’t worry, there’s plenty of wine to go around.
Celebrate the weekend with brunch, served family-style between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Munch on fruits, cheese, fried chicken, cheddar grits, and fresh donuts. And yes, they even have avocado toast! Wash it down with a Rustic Screw or order a pitcher of Bloody Mary.
You can hear live music every night at The Rustic, but be sure you check the schedule; some events require you to RSVP ahead of time. You never know, you might just catch the next big artist.
