Located near our Mockingbird apartments, you’ll find a Dallas Cowboys-themed campus featuring over 35 shops, restaurants, and specialty services. We’re talking about The Star District, and it’s also the football team’s world headquarters.
Lucchese at The Star
A Texas institution since 1883, Lucchese is one of the most iconic brands of the West. Founder Salvatore Lucchese immigrated to Texas in 1882. He opened the store with his brother and was the first to purchase an inseam machine. Today, the bootmakers carry on the brothers’ tradition of making high-quality footwear using time-honored methods and the finest leathers. Styles include western, bootie, and horseman.
Flea Style is a go-to destination for handmade, vintage, and one-of-a-kind items you won’t find anywhere else. In 2009, owner Brittany Cobb cultivated a team of vendors and held a one-time shopping event. However, it was so successful that she quit her writing job and established a permanent location. Brittany sources the goods from around the world. Each visit brings a treasure hunt, and customers never know what they’re going to find. Pieces may include clothing, jewelry, home decor, and more.
At Crushcraft, visitors enjoy an exciting journey to Thailand. The chefs prepare authentic recipes from scratch using locally sourced ingredients. Many of the dishes are Bangkok staples, and they’re both colorful and flavorful. The restaurant offers a lively setting. Diners can enjoy their meals inside or on the quaint patio featuring colorful flowers and umbrellas for shade. Menu offerings include drunken noodles, green curry, and Thai fried rice. They pair well with the veggie spring roll bites and a pint of local craft beer.
