From poets to screenwriters, Writing Workshops Dallas helps writers become a part of the literary community. The online classes are intentionally small. They’re led by award-winning authors and are offered on a rolling basis throughout the year. Here are some writing classes you can enjoy from our Dallas apartments:

The Art of Suspense

The Art of Suspense is for writers who want readers to keep turning the pages. It’s taught by author Ryan David Jahn. He’ll cover dialogue, plot, point of view, and more. His advice helps writers pen everything from short stories to international spy novels. You’ll complete assignments on your own schedule, and there are no set meeting times. Ryan offers feedback for all assigned projects. Join the list for the next class.

Zoom Seminar Twisting Facts Into Stories (April 10th)

Join Antonio as he tells how to turn personal memories and current events into compelling stories. He welcomes both fiction and nonfiction writers. For homework, you’ll receive several published stories to read before the seminar. By the end of the event, you’ll know how to twist facts into stories. Antonio came to the U.S. at 31. He started writing in English at 35, and his work has since appeared in major publications.

Writing Picture Books: From Creation to Publication (starts April 19th)

During Writing Picture Books, Rosie Pova will share everything needed to bring children’s stories to life. She’ll help you with the first draft and picking a catchy title. You’ll also learn about the submissions process and how to grab an agent’s attention. Rosie began writing as a child. Today, she calls Texas home and enjoys sharing her passion with aspiring writers.

These writing workshops are just a few of the classes you can enjoy in Dallas.
